I went Small Business Saturday shopping and came home with a wool applique project for a gift. I could have cut out the pattern pieces and whip stitched it onto the background but I decided to have some Sue Spargo stitchin fun. I selected to wools to make the scallop shell and some silk and some rayon perle. I stuffed and stitched and create the first of three scallop shells to appear on the mat.
I hope the recipient will enjoy the mat as much as I enjoy making it.
